Ethipothala waterFalls
Ethipothala Falls is a 70 feet (21 m) high river cascade, situated in gunter district, andhra pradesh India. Located on the Chandravanka river, which is a tributary of river krishna joining on its right bank. The water fall
is a combination of three streams namely Chandravanka Vagu, Nakkala
Vagu and Tummala Vagu. It is situated about 11 kilometres (6.8 mi) from nagarjuna sager dam.The river then joins the Krishna river after the dam after travelling
about 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) from the falls. A strategic view point was
created by Andhra Pradesh Tourism Department from the adjacent hillock.
There are ranganatha and dattatreya temples in the vicinity. There is a crocodile
breeding centre in the pond formed by the water fall. Water from the
Nagarjuna Sagar right bank canal is released in to the above streams to
keep the water fall alive or flowing throughout the year for tourism
purpose.
Kailasakona waterfalls(Kona falls)
Kailasakona waterfalls(Kona falls) are a natural perennial waterfall in the valley of Nagari Hills in Chittoor District. The water originates from a split in the mass rock. The water here is crystal clear having considerable mineral values. There is a small temple of Lord Shiva and Parvati near the waterfall. It is said that the water here, has some medicinal powers and can heal ailments.
Penchalakona waterfall
Penchalakona is a very ancient sacred place (pilgrim centre). Lord Narasimha manifested Himself here as a huge of rock in “Yoga mudra” (in an entwined contemplative posture) and hence it acquired the name of “Penusila” (huge rock) and in course of time became famous as “Penchalakona”. Legend has it that after slaying the demon Hiranya Kasipa, Lord Narsimha bathed in Penchalakona and withdrew that “Avatara”(incarnation) of Narasimha, shedding His anger and ferocity. The Lord here goes by the name of Somasila Narasimhaswamy and has become one of the Nava Narasimhas (nine manifestations).
Kaigal falls (Dumukuralla falls) waterfalls
Kaigal falls (Dumukuralla falls):It is popularly known as Kaigal falls in reference to the Kaigal village situated about 2.5 kilometres from the Falls is located at 13.0690°N 78.5621°E.It has an average elevation of 633 meters (2,079 ft). Locally the falls is called as Dumukuralla Water Falls. The telugu name dumukuralla waterfalls came into Prominence because of its sound resembling the fall of stones from above
Talakon waterfall
The Temple at Talakona water falls is a Siva Temple known as "SIDDHESWARA SWAMY TEMPLE". The diety is called as 'Siddheswara'. As per the Local people, the temple was built some 140 years ago.The SIVA LINGA in the temple was brought from the ruined temple of Rayavaripalli, a village in Pulicherla Mandal, On olden days there was a custom that if any new temple is constructed , instead of make a new Siva Linga, can install old one which lies without Pooja in ruined Temples. Based on this custom the SIVA LINGA was brought from Rayavaripalli ruined temple. The relics of the ruined temple can be seen today also in the agricultural fields of Rayavaripalli. That field is called as " Lingaakaaram kaada kayya", till today, which means a piece of agricultural field near Siva Lingam.
The Rayavaripalii tepmle was destroyed and taken away the wealth of the temple by Hyder Ali troops on the en-route to Arcot in mid 18th century.
The Talakona waterfall is in sri venkatreswara national park, chittoor district of andhra pradesh in India. With a 270 feet (82 m)-fall, Talakona is the highest waterfall in the andhra pradesh state.Talakona is also known for the Lord Siddheswara Swamy Temple, which is located close to the waterfall.
Ubbalamudugu waterFalls
Ubbalamudugu Falls (also called Tada Falls) is a waterfall located to the North of sricity in the chittoor district of india. Coming under the bhuchinaidu kandriga and varadaiahpalem mandels the falls are located 80 kilometres (50 mi) from chennai and 35 kilometres (22 mi) from srikalasthi.The falls are located in a forest called the siddulaiah kona. The relation to lord shiva ensures that the festival of maha shivaratri is a common time for people to visit.
